This course is project-based and intended for students interested in a career in data science and analytics, with applications to the actuarial career. It is designed to give students an environment to work with other students on analytics/actuarial cases that simulate the real-life problems faced by analysts.
By the end of the course, students will have working knowledge of basic analytic programs such as Excel or SQL. Students will have a working knowledge of problem-solving in analytics with a focus on business implications and acumen. Furthermore, students will be equipped to understand and approach analytical problems in a holistic manner, considering ethics and the context of data with which they work.
Due to high interest, we currently are prioritizing general members for enrollment. However, a large portion of seats will still be saved for the general public. We apologize if you are unable to enroll this semester; feel free to talk to the decal director about auditing.
