The Social Experience

While preparing for your career is important, Cal Actuarial League recognizes the need for a work-life balance. At UC Berkeley, Cal Actuarial League strives to create a forum in which students of interests alike can interact and bond with one another.

Hosted by the Internal Development and Marketing team, the Mentorship Program is the social side of Cal Actuarial League for our membership. While CAL is a professional club whose main focus is to develop our members in their careers, we want our members to have friendly and casual relationships with the other members as well as officers. Most importantly, the Mentorship Program allows for general members to use officers as a resource for professional development in the actuarial career. Families will have sets of weekly activities that include, but are not limited to: hiking, cooking, going out to eat, ice skating, karaoke, playing board games, and carving pumpkins.

Lastly, the Mentorship Program serve as a funneling system for future officers. As the officers get to know the general members on a more personal level, they are able to make greater judgments on their potential as a future officer for the club. The Mentorship Program is an excellent opportunity to meet alumni and professionals on a casual level and to take on a greater role within our organization.

To learn more about the Mentorship Program, please attend our Mentorship Kickoff event on September 12th at 8:00pm held at Dwinelle 182!
